Job Description

MPK is seeking a Cost Controller to join our project team, based in our Support Office. This role will report into the Commercial Manager, and be responsible for providing cost performance reporting and analysis for the project. Key duties include:

  • Developing and monitoring budgets, managing project expenditures, and forecasting future costs
  • Analysing financial data and provide forecasts, ensuring projects are aligned with financial goals
  • Preparing of internal and client invoicing and supporting documentation
  • Maintaining all cost commitments, including review of internal and third party costs
  • Reporting on project cost performance and analyse report outputs to create actions, whilst ensuring compliance
  • Preparing cost forecasts and assist in producing Status Reports as required
  • Providing cost control support and assistance, including project close out and lessons learnt reviews
  • Inputting client variations and maintain current contract value and budgets
  • Variance analysis to compare actual versus budgeted and forecast to complete costs
  • Reviewing of requisitions and commitments for compliance to project cost coding
  • Preparing consolidated project invoicing forecasts

Desired Skills and Experience

Suitable applicants will have tertiary qualifications in Commerce, Accounting or similar field and have the following:

  • 2years + experience in a similar position within the energy, infrastructure and or civil industries
  • Advanced skills in Excel for financial modelling
  • Familiarity with ERP systems 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to liaise between project teams
  • Skilled in handling multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
