About the Role:
MPK is seeking an experienced Planner / Scheduler to join our Project Team based in the Brisbane Support Office. The Planner / Scheduler provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility & will support the Project team with progress reporting including schedule updates, forecast to complete, Resource levelling and demand; variance identification and opportunities for improvement. The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Build and Interpret schedules using Primavera and MS Office programmes.
- Provide project control reporting, including baseline schedule development and management, performance status and reporting, baseline change control, risk management, earned value management guidance and tools.
- Advise and consult on the application of effective planning techniques and controls (earned value, cost and schedule variance, estimates at completion, critical path analysis).
- Support program integration, plan optimisation and project scheduling best practices.
- Ensuring that the planning and scheduling for projects adhere to company standards and contract obligations.
- Support and advise on the definition of project planning and earned value management processes, procedures and the standards required to deliver projects.
- Support the development of integrated master schedules for specific programmes in Primavera and/or Microsoft Project that reflect all interface milestones and activity durations from multiple contractor’s schedules and feed changes to the integrated master schedule.
- Ensure weekly/monthly reports are in line with the project and MPC Kinetic’s (MPK) reporting calendar, providing details on progress, actuals, forecast and explanation of variances.
- Ensure that project control processes are consistently applied across the project.
- Identify opportunities of improved schedules.
- Manage governance to ensure robust cost and schedule performance for the agreed Scope of Work across integrated programmes managed across multiple subcontractors and suppliers.
- Support the development of requirements for specific resource- loaded schedules.
- Monitor and report against KPI’s and analyse variances and make recommendations to maintain targets.
- Attendance and input into construction, testing, completions, programme, commercial meetings and workshops.
- Monitor, manage and report scope variance and delays, and holding meetings relating to progress.
- Work closely with the Project Manager, Commercial Manager and Quantity Surveyor to maximise the potential of the project.
- Provide innovative solutions to reporting and build data bases and documents for use inside and outside the project.
About You:
The successful candidate will hold a tertiary qualification in engineering or relevant discipline and ideally have 2+ years experience in project planning within a construction Environment. Experience and proficient user of relevant tools such as Primavera, Bentley Synchro and Microsoft Project, as well as practicable ability to utilise critical project management concepts such as risk analysis, configuration management and earned value management.
