Job Description
About the Role:
MPK is seeking an IS&T Systems Engineer to join our Information, Systems and Technology (IS&T) Team based out of the Brisbane Support Office. Reporting to the Group Manager - IS&T.
Main Duties include:
Supported services include; Servers, Data Storage, Data Back-ups, Data Continuity, Data Integrity/Security, Infrastructure Applications, Microsoft 365 Admin, Windows 11 SOE, Intune. In respect to this service support, the technical accountabilities of this role are as follows:
• Understand, implement and improve disaster recovery strategies when required
• Investigate, resolve and report system and service incidents
• Identify, investigate, resolve and report problems relating to systems, service, or process
• Prioritise and complete planned and unplanned maintenance
• Offer and investigate opportunities for continuous improvement of systems and processes
• Assist with projects and lead small site-based projects
• Monitor systems and processes to identify faults and improvement opportunities
• Facilitate appropriate recording and reporting of system and process faults, activity, change and status
• Liaise with internal and external service providers to ensure the effective provision of service
• Liaise with internal and external suppliers to ensure the effective provision of equipment
• Create and maintain system, service and process documentation, including; schematics, diagrams, manuals, instructions, lists, standards, procedures and policies
Desired Skills and Experience
About You:
The successful candidate will have the following qualifications, experience & knowledge/skills:
Qualifications
Essential
• Certificate IV in Information Technology or a similar relevant area of study (eg. Computer Science)
• A minimum of one relevant Industry Certification (eg. Windows Server, Microsoft 365, SaaS infrastructure, etc.) Desirable
• Bachelor of Information Technology or a similar relevant area of study
• Other relevant Industry Certifications
• Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) Foundations Certification (Version 3 or later)
Experience
Essential
• Minimum 5 years technical experience in the IT industry
• Minimum 2 years technical experience in the server, storage and Microsoft 365 fields
• Minimum 1 year technical experience with VMWare, vSphere 4.x or later Desirable
• Experience providing IT solutions within a construction or mining environment
• Experience managing Cyber Security related products such as Mimecast and Trend Micro
Knowledge and Skills
• Ability to deliver enterprise solutions across business functions, proactively identifying and addressing risks to ensure outcomes meet business requirements
• Proven ability to prioritise and schedule work independently and inter-dependently based on job classification. Basic job classifications include; disaster recovery, incidents, problems, planned/unplanned maintenance and projects
• Sound working knowledge of Microsoft Exchange and Mail Gateways
• Significant working experience with Microsoft Servers, 365, Data Storage, Data Back-ups, Data Continuity, Data Integrity/Security, Infrastructure Applications, Messaging, Desktop Computing, and Uninterruptable Power Supplies (UPS)
• A good understanding of other IT infrastructure, such as; Data Networks, Voice Networks, Databases and Software Solutions Position Description Relationships
